Summary Position
Responsibilities will include serving as Technical Director for Department of Performing Arts season (which currently includes three musicals, three plays, and two dance concerts); acting as a mentor on student productions; managing and maintaining the scene shop; tool and equipment maintenance and replacement; ensuring safety in all technical activities; and willingness to work with a diverse undergraduate student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching THE110: Theatre Workshop and overseeing student practicum hours. Expectation is for 40 hours of work/week, including occasional evening work to cover technical rehearsals, performance weekends, and all strikes for shows.

Education Requirements
Minimum educational requirements for this position include a MFA or Masters in a related field.

Degree/Major: Master's level degree required.
Length of Experience: Significant experience in technical direction for musicals, plays and dance at the university level or significant professional experience in technical direction is required. The successful candidate will be proficient in current trends in scenic technology, and demonstrate skill with budget management, CAD drafting, rigging, carpentry and metalworking. Must have CNC Programming and operations skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include serving as Technical Director for Department of Performing Arts season (which includes three musicals, three plays, and two dance concerts); acting as a mentor on student productions; managing and maintaining the scene shop; tool and equipment maintenance and replacement; ensuring safety in all technical activities; and willingness to work with a diverse undergraduate student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching THE110: Theatre Workshop and overseeing student practicum hours. Supervisor/Lead for all department strikes. Must collaborate with the Universitys cultural and special programs production manager and technical director.
