The goals of this research include synthesizing complex natural products and new nano-materials required to solve the many health and environmental crises facing our planet, and illuminating the molecular mechanisms that regulate the decoding of genetic information. Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Stores Supervisor and other SRS staff as designated by the Stores Supervisor, perform general services support in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry's SRS unit; (Shipping & Receiving, Research Stores: Chemical / Equipment / Office Supplies / Solvent Storage / Photocopy Center); as well as faculty support services. Support with store restocking and periodic physical inventory of SRS supplies, chemical storage and reprographic supplies. Perform customer service functions for faculty, staff, students and visitors, and complete any related administrative follow-up as required. This includes but is not limited to; frequent moving and unloading of large appliances; equipment; office and laboratory furnishings; assembly and simple installation of such items, handyman duties, cleaning, dusting and vacuuming SRS areas and job related spaces, provide clerical support and computer/web based job-time reporting related for SRS activities; responding to requests for stock items; photocopy related services; receiving and processing incoming and outgoing SRS related materials / documents / packages / shipments; maintenance of the SRS areas to ensure a clean and safe work environment and completion of any urgent or unscheduled assignments as needed and defined by the Stores Supervisor in support of the needs of the department.
