Clark College is currently accepting applications for a permanent classified Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2. This is a 100% FTE cyclic position, working forty hours per week for 10 months of the year. This cyclic position is scheduled while classes are in session (summer, fall, winter and spring) with time off over the quarter breaks and campus closures (December, March, June, and July). This position will be primarily located at the Boschma Farms site located in Ridgefield, WA and will be scheduled Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. Additional hours/days will vary depending on the needs of the Advanced Manufacturing department.
Instruction & Classroom Support Technicians provide various instructional, classroom, and laboratory support including academic and vocational instructional programs and extension of educational activities. Duties typically include assisting in the individual or group instruction of students in development of learning skills; and working with the faculty or instructors in preparing instructional lessons, teaching aids, materials and equipment associated with shop, or laboratory instruction which requires positions to have technical knowledge of the disciplines(s). JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare materials for the use in the classroom or lab. Set up assignments, equipment or provide demonstrations for classes; communicate with instructor on the status of assigned tasks.
Help with vocational training activities and maintain a safe and clean learning environment.
Monitor lab areas to ensure student compliance with safety, PPE, and conduct policies.
Demonstrate, at least at a basic level, how to set up, program, use, and troubleshoot, as applicable, all equipment, tools, and technology related to the Department's curriculum.
Perform basic repairs and maintenance of discipline-related equipment.
Monitor lab materials and supplies, communicating to appropriate faculty and support staff when supplies need to be ordered.
Maintain and update tool and part inventories, maintain and manage the tool room organization and shop floor equipment, receive and order materials and equipment as needed.
Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
Follow supervisor's verbally and written instructions.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, businesses, advisory committees, and other educational partners as necessary to create unique learning opportunities at Clark College.
Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in Department and College committees, as necessary.
Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
Pursue professional development to stay current in the field, as necessary.
Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements.
Perform other related duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPENTENCIES:
Candidates will be evaluated basedonapplicationmaterials,includingthesupplementalquestionsandpersonalinterview(s),and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:
Two (2) years of education in an Advanced Manufacturing-related field and/or industry experience related to Advanced Manufacturing.
OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
Familiarity with current industry practices in advanced manufacturing environments.
Experience in inventory control of tools, materials, and equipment.
Experience in recommending, using, and performing basic repairs of all advanced manufacturing equipment relevant to the program's curriculum.
JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift 50lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
Ability to identify all discipline-specific tools and equipment needed for assigned tasks.
Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance of all program-related equipment.
Ability to set up, program, use, and troubleshoot all program-related equipment.
